A Ponchatoula stable is set to reopen on Wednesday after a temporary closure during the stay-at-home orders set by Gov. John Bel Edwards over concerns of the spread of COVID-19 around the state, according to an announcement made on their social media pages.
The restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch to go and is asking customers to call ahead with their orders.
The cafe is also known around the region for their homemade strawberry daiquiris that are featured heavily during the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival. Despite the festival’s cancellation this year, the restaurant has offered its famous daiquiris by the souvenir cup or gallon on select weekends, selling them by a curbside pickup.
Paul’s was initially open at the beginning of the stay-at-home order for to-go service but later decided to close temporarily as a precaution to at-risk family members.
